Biographies of Presenters

Alastair's interest in bodywork began in the early 1980's. He gained his Diploma in Remedial Massage from the Northern Institute of Massage. He is currently a member of the London & Counties Society of Physiologists.

He has also completed courses in Thought Field Therapy and Allergy & Environmental Illness. He began his career in The Bowen Technique in 1993 and became a registered instructor for the Bowen Therapy Academy of Australia in 1997. In the same year he became the first chairman of the Bowen Association UK, a position he held until 1999.

In 1998 he was the first Academy Instructor to hold Bowen training courses in Italy. These initial courses helped to eventually establish The Bowen Association of Italy. In 1998 he was also invited to the first North American Bowtech conference in Boulder, Colorado to take part as a conference speaker.

In 1999 he also initiated courses in Norway and Cyprus. Then in 2000 he held the first course in Spain. In addition he organised & chaired the first ever Bowtech European Conference in Cyprus in 2001 where speakers from all over the world were in attendance.

Alastair's pioneering work in Europe has helped to pave the way for several other Academy instructors to continue his work in these and other European countries too.
